(VIDEO) Bill Moyers on the Morality of National Socialism

Bill Moyers with Bill Maher on Healthcare

Bill Maher interviews fellow liberal progressive Bill Moyers on the topic of ObamaCare and the influence of corporate interests in the Democratic party.

The first mistake that Moyers makes was stating  people are cold hearted if they are not for government health insurance.

Ronald Reagan addressed that charge in this video monologue from the 1961 Operation Coffee Cup Campaign against Socialized Medicine that was being proposed by the Democrats way back then. Liberals were attempting to enact National Socialism long before the ObamaNation was given a crisis too good to waste.

Moyers also took Rahm Emanuel to task for being a “corporate Democrat.” No mention of trial lawyers and the money that would be saved through Tort reform. This would literally save several billion of dollars every year.

Moyers continues with the “morality” of free healthcare for everyone argument. The message we would send by just simply passing ObamaCare is that we all “care” about one another. Liberalism is so drippy with emotion it makes my skin crawl. Who will be FORCED to pay for this? How much will this feel goody cost? Who knows? Certainly not the ObamaNation who just missed the national debt figures by a whopping two trillion!

There are many things we can do to help bring down the cost of health insurance.

I would think that no longer forcing insurance companies to pay for procedures such as sex changes could be part of the solution. This brings me to how we use medical insurance in general. Medical insurance is used far more often than it should be. Medical insurance was designed to keep someone safe from financial ruin during a catastrophic event. It was originally used when really bad things happened.

If I need an oil change on my car I do not throw it onto my auto insurance. If I need to paint my home, I pay for the paint out of my pocket rather than filing a claim with my insurance provider.

And yet when it comes to medical insurance, we use it for every runny nose and hangnail. We are a pill popping, over medicated, soft society.

Bill says we are a “crippled giant.” I agree with Mr. Moyers, except I see Bill and his “progressive movement” as the leading cause. I’m not optimistic about our future. I’ll be upfront about that. I think we have gone too far.

However, as far as healthcare reform is concerned, I don’t think many liberals on the Hill are willing to commit political suicide over ObamaCare. The town halls have shown that people are genuinely outraged over ObamaCare, and the big brother power grab in general. Time will tell.
