The Psychology of Pleasure by Nathaniel Branden
I have been thinking a lot lately about true happiness. These two videos about the psychology of pleasure present some interesting food for thought. I’ve been thinking back on my earlier life, with all the parties and people that I once thought of as friends, and where I’m at today. Many time in my life I sought the company of people not for any particular true admiration that I had for the person, but as a means of escaping loneliness.
I’ve come a long way in my personal development. Today I have true joy and true happiness. I enjoy creating and look forward to my remaining days that I have here on earth. Philosophy has been a major contribution in healing from the fear, shame, and guilt that was placed upon my soul by religion.
“Innovators and creators are persons who can to a higher degree than average accept the condition of aloneness. They are more willing to follow their own vision, even when it takes them far from the mainland of the human community.” -Nathaniel Branden
