This is a good history review that includes the parts that they leave out in schools. Remember the Orwellian memory hole?

ACORN and the Ku Klux Klan

Last week, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, a crime syndicate dedicated to tightening the Democratic Party’s grip on America, dissolved its national structure. Too much of ACORN’s corruption had been exposed to public scrutiny for it to run its vote fraud and extortion rackets effectively. So, ACORN activists will have to soldier on in state-level organizations, such as New York Communities for Change and New England United for Justice in Massachusetts.

Oh Me -- Oh My… Obama Caught in a Major ACORN Lie

In the book , the memory hole is a slot into which government officials deposit politically inconvenient documents and records to be destroyed.

In the walls of the cubicle there were three orifices. To the right of the speakwrite, a small pneumatic tube for written messages, to the left, a larger one for newspapers; and in the side wall, within easy reach of Winston’s arm, a large oblong slit protected by a wire grating. This last was for the disposal of waste paper. Similar slits existed in thousands or tens of thousands throughout the building, not only in every room but at short intervals in every corridor. For some reason they were nicknamed memory holes. When one knew that any document was due for destruction, or even when one saw a scrap of waste paper lying about, it was an automatic action to lift the flap of the nearest memory hole and drop it in, whereupon it would be whirled away on a current of warm air to the enormous furnaces which were hidden somewhere in the recesses of the building.

“In my home, this is the only time I worry,” McDonald said. “There's more guns coming into this city than the police can take away from them. So if I've got a gun, and if others have guns in their homes to protect themselves, then that's one thing that police would have to worry about less.”

MOSCOW (AP) – Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said Monday that Russia will build a new strategic bomber, a move that comes as the nation tries to upgrade its aging military arsenal.

Putin said in televised remarks that work on the bomber must follow the development of a prospective stealth fighter, which made its maiden flight in January and was hailed by the government as a big step in military modernization efforts.

“We won't limit ourselves to just one new model,” Putin said at a government meeting that focused on military aviation. “We must start work on a prospective long-range aircraft, our new strategic bomber.”

Gordon Brown defended the controversial DNA database and plans to extend CCTV today as he put the fear of crime and yobbery at the heart of the election campaign.

The Prime Minister attacked the Tories' opposition of the CCTV roll-out and the retention of DNA samples from people arrested but not convicted.

In a major speech on law and order, he promised that both would be 'on the ballot paper' in the coming election.

He also risked a row with the police by promising to name and shame forces which are not getting officers out on the beat.

Speaking to an audience of police officers in Reading, he said he wanted policing to be more 'visible' with officers spending 80 per cent of their time on patrol.

In progressive land, you really did not see what you think you saw, and you did not actually hear what you thought you heard. It’s the conservatives trying to fool you…

This is insanity through and through.

Brooklyn prosecutors on Monday cleared ACORN of criminal wrongdoing after a four-month probe that began when undercover conservative activists filmed workers giving what appeared to be illegal advice on how to hide money.

While the video by James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles seemed to show three ACORN workers advising a prostitute how to hide ill-gotten gains, the unedited version was not as clear, according to a law enforcement source.

“They edited the tape to meet their agenda,” said the source.

O'Keefe and Giles – who visited ACORN offices in several cities, including its Brooklyn headquarters – stirred controversy when they posted the videos on their Web site.
