Our ideas about God have grown and changed throughout our history. At certain times in history, there have been major changes in the consciousness of humanity. We live in one of those macro-times in history in which major cultural changes are taking place.

The tension we all experience in our culture is reflective of this evolutionary struggle, and is quite natural. It’s a fantastic time to be alive and to continue in the conversation concerning the great ideas.

Based on Karen Armstrong’s book, this film examines the concept of God in the three major monotheistic religions from the days of Abraham to modern times.

Through analysis of historic and holy texts and incorporation of ancient art and artifacts, the program explores the deity written about in the Bible and the Quran.

The evolution and intertwining of various Christian, Jewish and Islamic interpretations of God are also addressed.
